Swedish Culinar – this year’s foodstuffs innovator!

The Swedish foodstuffs company Culinar, headquartered in Kristianstad in southern Sweden, has been awarded one of the finest distinctions in the food industry – ”Innovation of the Year”.

The prize recognizes Culinar’s product Culinax, a system that enables the food industry not only to flavour foods in a way that was impossible earlier, but also to develop completely new, modern products.

The award to Culinar was announced on Tuesday evening at the major Food Ingredients Trade Fair in Frankfurt. Culinar’s flavour system Culinax was one of three innovations nominated for the prize titled “Food Ingredients Excellence Award” presented for the best innovation in the foodstuffs industry.

“We are naturally very proud and happy to receive the prize. It is the culmination of the many years of research and development behind Culinax. Without our long experience and in-depth knowledge in taste and texture, we could never have taken this step,” explains Håkan Christensson, Culinar Marketing and Sales Manager

Culinax offers two vital advantages to the foodstuffs industry. Not only is it very process durable, withstanding high temperatures and long storage time without loosing taste and aroma. But it also releases tastes and aromas in a slow, natural way.

“During 2009 we have presented Culinax to a few chosen customers. The reactions have been very positive and the interest very high.”
